I'd like to thank the man for 1. The Opportunity that He created for Future Blacks in the Diversity of Ratings and Advancement throughout the US NAVY.
2. And for his can do spirit that has embodied the United States Navy Chief's of today.
The Navy and the World has indeed lost a uniquely fined tuned artifact that will be," often imitated but never duplicated".

I feel so honored to have known such a special man! Uncle Dit visited us quite often when we where stationed at Langley Air Force Base. Our children thought the world of him and his visits are memories that we will treasure for a lifetime. He was the only family member we had in the area so he lifted our spirits with his stories of his life and gave us the motivation to do what we had to do to surive that duty station. He gave us the very best advise on how to deal with military life! I thank God for him and his wisdom... I love you dearly and I always will. God gave me a guardian angel and his name is Master Chief Carl M. Brashear (Uncle Dit). I'll Miss you!
