It was my great honor to see Master Chief Carl M. Brashear at a Veteran's Day Parade in New York City, where he was the Grand Marshal. As his vehicle went by I snapped to attention and saluted. Our eyes met and he returned the salute. I consider that to be a treasured moment seeing a true patriot and America hero who was a trail blazer for those who followed. He will never be forgotten by his fellow veterans and our nation will remember his deeds. He now reports to the Greatest Commander of them all. our Lord God.
