April 1, 2013 I met Bill in about 1970. While we were sitting on opposite sides of the table, we got along well from the beginning. We were both Hastings gradustes and that created a bit of a bond. Our Scottish ancestry was another factor. We also agreed on most matters political. I joined him for lunch at all the new restaurants in the Gaslamp plus the University Club and his Kiwanis Club in his downtown days. After he retired we met periodically in several Mission Valley eateries. He was a good friend and I will miss him greatly. Don Stevenson, San Diego, CA March 31, 2013 I worked for Mr Wallace (Bill) and his father Ralph from January 1967 to August 1971. Working for those two gentlemen was a pleasure. They expected near perfection due to the nature of their work (wills & trusts), and I like to think my secretarial skills were up to the task. Hearing of Mr Wallace's death (I don't think I ever called him "Bill"!) brought back a lot of memories. He and his father were wonderful to work for! When I left Wallace & Wallace, Bill said "four years is about as long as anyone should stay in one job"... I think he would be amused to know I went on to work 35 years at one company! Best thoughts to the family. Joan Richards San Diego
