Minerva (Nerm) Ellen Tate February 11, 1925 January 24, 2014 Minerva "Nerm" Ellen Tate, 88, of Belle-ville, formerly of Centre Hall, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the Geisinger - Lewistown Hospital in Lewistown. She was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Potter Township, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Bitner Neff. On April 16, 1949, she married Eugene (Pete) R. Tate, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2013. Minerva graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School. Early in life she worked in the cafeteria at Penns Valley Area High School, and later as an administrative assistant in the College of Agriculture at the Penn State University. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Tusseyville and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Nerm enjoyed crocheting, painting ceramics, and was an avid and gifted cook and baker. She also enjoyed cleaning. Surviving Mrs. Tate is a daughter, Deborah Sue Frazier and her husband Larry of Centre Hall; two grandchildren, Brad Frazier and his wife Stephanie of Stephens City, Va., and Meghan Frazier of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Rachel Frazier; one sister, Lucille Klostermeyer and her husband Dick of Omaha, Neb.; and one brother, Paul Neff and his wife Sarah of Bellefonte. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Eckert and Janet Irwin; and three brothers, Russell, Dean, and Philip Neff. Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall; and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow immediately at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with the Reverend Gerald Peachy officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Tusseyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Valley View Haven, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
