I knew Daren back in the 90's from the bicycle business. He worked at the same shop in Fort Lauderdale with a bunch of us. We all used to go riding together and he was always alot of fun and very inspring to ride with. He'll be greatly missed.

I knew Darren in elementary school on Sullivan's Island back in the mid 70s... Then ran into him in Fort Lauderdale randomly at the Parrot Lounge 20 years later in the mid 90s and instantly became friends with him. What a great guy. Great athlete... great sense of humor... a dream son of proud parents. I don't know why, but I just started thinking about him. Not fair at all... I'll never understand the meaning or senselessness of his death, but I miss him.

Darren took me under his wing in high school. I was an awkward freshmen and he a senior. He gave me confidence and was a big brother that I needed. I can see that he touched many people lives from this guest book, I will never forget him.

Darren was a friend of mine from The Sports Authority days. He sold street hockey equipment to me for the stores. We used to go to lunch at Quarterdeck in Ft Lauderdale.

I remember when he first had his seizure and I could not believe it. Then he moved back to South Carolina, but from time to time I would call him. Last time we spoke he told me how good he was at darts and how often he was playing.

I always kept his phone number on my phone hoping to call him. Today I tryed calling him but only to find out that his number was disconnected. I felt something was wrong, it was, he was gone and I just found out. He was an old friend of mine and will truely be missed.

Daren Kerr has touched each of our lives in many different ways.

Those of us who have been blessed enough to call him our friend, know what a long, hard and often expensive battle he has fought over the last 14 years. His strength and courage have been an inspiration to us all.

Daren's ultimate wish, for those of us who are so inclined, is that a trust be set up to take care of the numerous medical expenses incurred during the course of that battle. One single and definitive trust has been established to do just that. In lieu of flowers and other traditional sentiment, it is Daren's and the Kerr family's wish that his friends contribute what we can to this trust. Please know that any contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly and confidentially appreciated.

To join us in the celebration of a man, whose life will provide us all with strength and inspiration for the rest of our days on this earth you can donate by sending your contribution made out to:

Peace, blessings and many warm thanks,

Not a long enough life lived Daren, but will be a life long remembered, by all that knew and love you.
We met just twice in Charleston, long enough for you to leave an impression and a wonderful memory during my visit to your part of the world. Thank you for that.

The Kerr Family:
May God bless you during these times. I know Darren will rest in peace because of all the positive impacts he made in people's lives. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Kerr family. I will always remember the good times that we had at Wingate College in the 80's.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your family is in my prayers and may the Heavenly Father help you through your sadness.

We met Daren at the Brain Tumor Support Group at MUSC. He was such a neat person and always had a positive attitude. We loved getting to know him; and we are so sorry to lose him at such a young age. Our heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to Cinamon and family.
