In the days that have passed since my Dad has had his accident, great memories have brought me to tears.
I'd like to share a few, there was a time where every Christmas came around he would encourage us to make Christmas cookies/and he had to make his pies. His favorite cookies to make were raisin filled and his favorite pies were(pronunciation) coco-nut crehm phi & Punkin' Phi. I wasn't very fond of the raisin filled but I'll tell ya what, they're sounding pretty darn good right now!
ha ha
I always called him every Monday when I went to play Texas Holdem. We would just talk about what's been going on lately.
His love for Penguins and for ICE CREAM; The Ocean; babies; will be here forever! There was never a flavor of ice cream he didn't like. I remember him telling me, that he told his doctor that he was on a diet. Because he didn't cut back on ice cream but....he added fruit to it.ha ha I had the pleasure of spending almost a whole day at the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl in Boston this past June. At one point of the "Scooper Bowl" I had MORE cups than he did! I remember looking at him and counting bowls against how many he had, WE really COULD NOT believe how many cups I had compared to him. So he had to EAT MORE ICE CREAM! Which was really no problem. I was ready to go, but we stayed a while longer so that he could get a hat from a particular ice cream brand. I believe the ice cream was called " HOLY COW" It was pretty delicious.
What I will miss the most is his smile; his scent; his toes (my immediate family knows what I mean)his hugs & kisses; The way he shook his belly when he hugged me. His love for my son. His little jokes that sometimes took me a while to get. His military talks with my husband, that half the time I didn't understand a word they said. When I asked for an explanation, I still didn't understand.
He was an awesome father, was always there when you needed him. I could talk to him about anything, always.
I'm going to miss him so much, but I know he is watching over me and my family & friends from the heavens. He's up there with so many other GREAT people I've missed already. So I know he's in great hands!
I'd like to share the ironic things that have happened since he has gone: 1.His favorite movie has played on t.v. League of Their own ( I haven't seen that movie played on t.v. EVER.)
2. I had a dream about him a few days ago & there was a Tori Amos song involved in the dream. When Rhonda and I went out for lunch, That same Tori Amos song played. (TORI IS NEVER PLAYED IN RESTAURANTS!)
3. I've never seen so many people besides my Dad want Ice Cream. My husband and his immediate family, have been eating ice cream almost every night. :)
I could go on, and on and on- For-evvveerrr. Although, I would be taking up all the pages in this guest book.
So I will end this with.
I love you Dad, for eternity.
Love you Always,
Your Little Girl.
