To the Gadsden Family:
My prayers are with you. May God comfort you during this time. Heaven is truly rejoicing. Ms. Mena had such a sweet spirit. She was my mentor and taught me everything about ushering at Bethel AME. I will cherish the memories I have of her. One of my fondest memory is waiting on Sunday morning for her to bring me the fresh pan of homemade biscuits. She will truly be missed.

With deepest sympathy on the loss of a great woman. Sister Gadsden taught us proper church etiquette and kept us in line at Bethel AME Church in the mid to late 1970s. I still think of her a a model usher. Sister Gadsden will be greatly missed but the lessons she taught us will live on as we pass them on to others. Life well lived. Dr. Shelma Middleton Little

May the Lord bless and keep the family. I rememnber way back when I use to be outside pumping water from the well and Mrs. Mena use to yell "Poss, come take this plate to the fence." And I would meet him cause I knew what time it was. Homemade bisuits time. The best! What a great woman, a honorable woman, and the perfect neighbor. May you rest in everlasting peace with your maker and your "Poss".
