My first memory of Jane was in the old Gaillard Auditorium where she & Joy and myself and my daughter Liann were seated close to each other at a Chinese Dance presentation. Both Joy & Liann were adopted from China. This chance meeting was the start of a friendship I will always be so grateful for. Not just for myself but in particular for my daughter. Through this meeting, I was introduced to the Charleston Catholic School where Joy attended. As a single Mom this was great news because I worked downtown and was looking for an elementary school. Joy - a couple years older was already attending AND even better the Brescia's lived very close to us on the IOP. At the beginning of the next school year Liann was a dropped off at their home before school and the Dr Brescia played chauffeur for the girls. He also filled in as Father for both the girls at the GS father - daughter dance & so much more. She was loved by us all and is sorely missed.

I loved Jane from the first time I met here at DePaul University in 1982. I had the sad privilege to celebrate her funeral Mass in Hammond , Ind. as well as preside at her Memorial Service in Charleston. I will offer Mass for her and for her family, Frank, Matthew and Joying. God grant her peace.
