Thanks Mr. Davis for all you did in becoming a true role model for today's young people. Your OU family will miss you greatly.

I had the pleasure of meeting Steve this past October, at the OU-Notre Dame game. Such an engaging and pleasant man, and I felt so honored to shake his hand. My condolences to Steve's family and friends. Take comfort in knowing that God must have needed another angel right now. The highest calling.. God Bless You, Steve.

Steve was my all time favorite OU player. 38 years ago I was a 10 year old kid going to my first OU game with my dad and little brother, it was suppose to be another "Hang a half a hundred" day for the Sooners against the unheralded Kansas Jayhawks. However to the surprise of the entire nation Kansas won 23-3. It was to be the only loss Steve Davis would have as the OU quarterback. I was crushed I remember crying all the way home. A few days later I wrote a letter to Steve, explaining how heart broke I was at the loss to Kansas, but I still thought that he and all the Sooners were the best team ever! With the help of my parents I sent the letter along with my pee-wee football photo. Much to my surprise a few days later I received a letter back from Steve along with an Autographed photo, not in a football uniform, but a photo of him giving a sermon. In a symbolic way Steve was saying to this little kid that there are bigger things in life than Oklahoma Football. While that is hard to imagine for any Sooner, we all know deep down he is right! I have never forgotten Steve's gesture of kindness to me. He was a teacher, a leader, and a Inspiration to others on and off the field.

God bless Steve Davis

I've known Steve since high school. He was a person of passion, in high school he lived to play for the Sooners. When I signed with Arkansas he ask me "why"? I had to tell him that the Sooners didn't offer me a scholarship. He had hoped we would be teamates. The dream came true for Steve to play for the Sooners. Later in life, with the help of George his faith carried him. May you rest in peace Steve

Condolences to the family of Steve Davis; your loss is greater than that of any Sooner fan. The Sooner Nation holds you in thought and prayer. A fine person has been taken much too soon. God speed....

What a blessing it was to be in Steve's Bible study class at Falls Creek years ago. I'm sure he heard, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" when he entered heaven.May God bless the Davis family at this difficult time.
