I never fully appreciated country music until I heard the Louvin brothers. It was a revelation and I owe my love and appreciation of the genre all to them. Really loved seeing Charlie perform in his later years on the Country Family Reunion shows. God bless him and his family.

I was singing Louvin Brothers' songs back in the fifties with my band on radio and personal venues.
I was in Bell Buckle, TN about eight years ago guesting with the "Front Porch Pickers" on their Saturday radio program from the Bell Buckle Cafe. To close out the show I was asked to do an inspiration song. I chose a song titled "Who At The Door Is Standing." Mr. Louvin was in his museum across the street listening to the radio. He rushed over to the cafe to see who was singing that song. After the show he came to me and asked if I had a recording of that song. I told him "No." He asked if I would record it for him; I said "Yes I will if you will sing a Louvin Brothes' song with me." He did and I did.
I had been in the museum before, but never talked with him. I often reflect on that day and his request for that song, and thinking, Mr. Louvin surely was a religious person. And, of course I wonder if he ever used the song.
My deepest sympathies to the families and to all who loved his music.
