I just found out. This is a great loss. Dr. Brigham did my spinal fusion in 2010. I saw him a year later for a check-up and he was full of life. I am so sorry to hear this.

As a professional athlete, Dr. Brigham could relate to the physical demands of competition. Dr. Brigham gave me a second chance to continue my career as a professional basketball player in europe. I had what is called Spinal Stenosis, and 4 months post surgery i was back on the court... Dr. Brigham's effort and dedication is certainly appreciated...

In 2000 I had a spinal fusion that didn't go so well after three months it had to be redone. Dr Brigeham was brought I. To assist and I was so glad he did. I look at the X-ray's today and it was truely a work of a master. I'm sorry I never got to meet thus man I was sedated the whole time. I kept his name because if I ever had anything done again he would bye the first person I'd look for. Sadly today I learned of his death. I'm sorry I never got to tell him what a great job he did and how much I appreciated his skills. You are loved and remembered til the day I die

Very sorry to hear this news. Dr Brigham did my scoliosis surgery in 1994, and I remember him being very comforting. Condolences to his wife, daughter, and family.

Shocked! That is all I can say upon learning of the passing of Dr Brigham. We recently called for a follow up appointment for my daughter whom he preformed surgery on several years ago, and learned this terrible news. She needed surgery to correct a severe scoliosis proble when she was only 15, and we were so scared of this surgery, but his confidence and kindness helped us to be at ease. It was a long surgery and recuperation but Craig was very gracious throughout the whole process. My wife and I ran into him from time to time in Charlotte and he would always stop and chat with us and ask about his patient. Our deepest condolences to his family. This is truly a great loss to us all.

I called for my appointment with Brigham at office, on November 4th and I was shocked about him. I was crying so much at phone I could not stop myself. First time I visited at his office in 2005 and he told me you are near by paralyze, but if you go for surgery it may help you, but there is no chances for success. I was not sure but then I was visited him in 2008 he told me that there is no chance and you will be paralyze any time and I was ready for surgery. He did 8 hours surgery and it was success. After surgery at least I can walk with my cane or walker, before it was hard for me to walk. He always told me that Varsha you are my favorite patience and I never ever seen patience like you, you are so strong and willpower person. When I visited at office on November 4th and talk with his nurse I could not stop crying myself, and still I could not stop my tears. I was so surprise how it happened, I never ever forgot him. He always smile, and when ever I visited him, he always told me how is my favorite person. I missed him a lot. I pray for him.

I was saddened and shocked to learn of Craig's passing in the recent Northwestern Ward Rounds magazine. We were close friends at Northwestern University Medical School and he was as dedicated to his medical studies as he was to his decathlon training. When he was training for an upcoming track meet, he would always be blaring the theme from Rocky. That was his theme song. He was understandably disappointed when the United States opted to boycott the 1980 Moscow Olympics, for which he had been tirelessly training, but he overcame the disappointment and moved on to accomplish great things in his medical career. He never harbored any bitterness or resentment. He was a special person who will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, Craig.

Just read of Craig's passing in Northwestern University Medical School Ward Rounds. He was a lab partner in Gross Anatomy our first year at med school in 1976. Remembered him training for the decathalon during Chicago's winter. Once during "dead week" at midnight while we were all cramming in the lab Craig suddenly jumped from the floor onto the top of the counter, a giant smiling gnome! Never forgot that moment! Great guy, he will be missed.

I just found out because I just made an appointment for my son with OrthoCarolina. I googled his name and found out the sad,sad news. Dr. Brigham has been my doctor since 1986 an diagnosed me with scoliosis and then he performed surgery on my lower back for a ruptured disc in 1993 and then in 1995 for a ruptured disc. My surgery has been a success for little over 18 years. I always told people that
DR. Craig D. Brigham was the best. People would ask me, would you have surgery again and I would always say in a heart beat as long as Dr.Brigham did my surgery. With tears streaming from my eyes I will truly miss the best. I can sympathize with his family because I lost my mother about a month ago. My mom and I were extremely thankful to God for the talents of Dr. Craig D. Brigham. I remember him telling me "no wonder why you were in so much pain, you had the biggest rupture I have ever seen". He did a great job because I was out of pain when I woke up from surgery. I will pray that God will comfort his family for their terrible loss of their husband, daddy and friend.
I hope God finds someone that will be as good as DR. Craig D. Brigham. He had God given talents. You will truly be missed.

The last time I saw Craig was at the SEHS Hall of Fame Dinner in 2011. He was always so kind and caring. I met him years ago through my late husband Bill McChesney. They both had gone to school at South. I was very saddened to hear of Craig's death. I pray for his family, friends, and patients. He will be missed.
With loving kindness,
Nanci
