Eugene Loebs Obituary

Eugene Francis Loebs DENVER - Eugene Francis Loebs, 86, of Denver, NC, formerly of Madison, NJ, passed away on December 3, 2013. Born in Richmond Hill, NY on March 11, 1927, he was the son of Albert and Adele Loebs. He was preceded in death by his daughter Suzanne. Mr. Loebs is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Margaret Mary, as well as ten children, David, Patrick, Keith, Eugene, Evan, John, Rosemary, Aimee, Ross, and Janine. He also leaves behind 38 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A successful salesman and business owner, Mr. Loebs served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946. His hobbies included singing, jazz music, football, and telling jokes. His barbershop quartet, The Play-Tonics, was the 1956 silver medalist at the International Barbershop Society Contest. He was affectionately known by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as The Trooper, Uncle Chuck, and The King of the Gypsies. Mr. Loebs was a member of The Cove Church in Mooresville, NC, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 11:00 am.

Only just found out about Mr. Loeb's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will miss his friendly wave as he walked his dogs, and the occasional chats that we'd have. My deepest sympathies to your family.
