Faye Templeton Allen MINT HILL-Faye Templeton Allen of Mint Hill, NC, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Carrington Place in Matthews, NC from congestive heart failure. Ms. Allen was born in Great Falls, S.C., to Clyde Templeton and Euna Faye McPherson Templeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Allen, Jr., son, John Wesley Price and sisters. Mary Killian, Ruth Murphy and Clydie Campbell. Ms. Allen was an excellent bookkeeper for the family business for many years. Her family will always remember the time and care she spent cooking for days to produce wonderful meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family and friends. She created many lovely cross-stitch framed art pieces. Ms. Allen had a love of growing flowers, visiting the mountains and beach and watching birds at the feeder outside her sunroom. Ms. Allen is survived by her children, Linda (Charlie)Cathey of Matthews, N.C., Patsy (Jerry) Driggers of Rock Hill, S.C. , Kathy(Jerel) Eudy of Stanfield, N.C., Roger (Vonnie ) Allen, Sr. of Midland, N.C., Sally (Steve) Faires of Midland, N.C., Sandi (Ray) Watts of Mooresville, N.C. and Fred (Debbie) Allen,III of Mint Hill, N.C. The family wishes to thank the staff of Carrington Place of Matthews, for their excellent care. Ms. Allen (Miss Faye) was the recipient of many hugs, kisses and encouraging words while a resident there. There are so many wonderful dedicated staff members, that it would be impossible to list them all. However, special thanks go to nurse Emily Pupo for always being so patient, kind and understanding while giving gentle, loving care to our Mom. Also, nurses Corinna Bowen and Theresa Miller helped provide excellent care. The CNA's (angels in disguise) we thank you for your loving care: Dot Howard, Angela Lewis, Felicia, Tawanna and everyone else on the later shifts. Thank you to Amanda and Charmain for the fun, carefully planned activities. Also, for providing guidance and comfort during Ms. Allen's final days, a heartfelt thank you to nurse manager, Jennifer Lemire and Evercare nurse practitioner, Mary Mitchell. Celebration of life services will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel of the mausoleum at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill. Officiating will be Reverend Bruce Pope.
