Dearest Ellie, Norie, Cindy, Nancy, Janice and the many, many friends and family of Frederick Arthur. Please accept my condolences and prayers that you find strength at this most difficult time. Like many folks, I could write a book about my experiences with Fred. He always had time for me. One of my proudest moments was when he introduced me to a Charlotte neighbor as his son, that was a moment i will remember for the remainder of my days. I told him that I was very fortunate to have had two Dads. He taught me many of life's valuable lessons. For example: Never wear a wristwatch when you are playing baseball, especially if you are the catcher. A fish that is almost a keeper can become a keeper if given the proper stretching regimen. Wine can be made from almost anything, and it does not necessarily get better with age. The most valuable tool in your golf bag is the eraser. These are just a small sampling of the many lessons that Fred taught me. He had a wonderful sense of humor, he always helped me put things in perspective.
I have a Million great memories that will endure, I could not have had a better neighbor and friend on Pettit Place when growing up. Art and Ellie were best of friends with my Mom and Dad, they dearly valued their friendship as well. Most of all, I simply loved spending time with him. I know that Fred left Dunkirk, Cassadaga, Myrtle Beach and Monroe/Charlotte a better place. Love, Edward

Fred became my friend almost immediately. I loved to get him started with singing to him and always kissed his head. He was so interesting to listen to about the story of his life. I will miss seeing him at Legacy Heights, I loved Fred.

Dearest Norie,

What a celebration of life your father has lived. While saddened by his loss you and your family can smile and laugh while keeping his sweet memory alive in your hearts. Know that we all love you and celebrate his life with you. Steve and Elaine

Fred was a one of a kind, truly special gentleman who will be greatly missed. I'll always remember Fred with his impish smile and his lovely voice.
