I bowled with George for five years. He was the best friend I made in that time. Always had something to say, always in good humor, always full of tales and stories. I'll certainly miss him.

I remember most, was as a young girl, our families would take vacations to Florida together. Uncle Lee always made up funny “stories” for us. I also, remember sitting around playing poker at their home in PA. We’d stay up really late and play with his poker chips. I thought that was so much fun and again, as always, he had his stories. Then, mom and dad’s 50th anniversary he and Aunt Jane came for the dinner party. It made for even more stories and more fun. Of course as a faithful brother would do, Uncle Lee came again when dad had his heart problems last year. Uncle Lee stayed at mom and dad’s house. For the first time ever, it gave me time to really spend and talk with Uncle Lee one on one. We had great conversation over tea, breakfast and of course his little funny jokes about dad and his deer dancing at night in the garden to the radio. What a funny, wonderful husband, dad, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who we will always remember as just that. We all miss him very much.

Lee had a struggle in the hospital during our last visit. Although his death was a shock, we knew he was a very sick man and could not live a normal life with all the complications cancer had dealt his body. We were able to spend some time with him during his last days and for that we are very thankful.
He fought a good fight and is at rest now. We have comfort that he no longer has the awful pain.
The family left Charlotte yesterday(May 30)to go back to PA.
Our home is very quiet and we miss Jane, George & Beth, Jim, Melissa and Wil.
Wade misses Lee, his only brother. Although he has good memories of their childhood, things are not normal anymore. He could always call him and talk Politics, Golf, Weather, Garden and even about the little buggers in his back yard that didn't pay any taxes.

Uncle Lee will always be remembered in my heart for the kind things he did as a child. His life proved that you take no hope and make something out of it. He was willing to go anywhere for his family's well being. I will miss him.

We thank God for the time we knew you. Heaven must have had a problem with the pipe organ, and they knew just the man to get.

George, or "Uncle Lee" (as I knew him) will forever be missed by all of his family and friends that knew him and loved him. He brought laughter into our lives and was well loved by all. His brother, Wade, (my Dad) has been deeply impacted by his passing and has lost his "buddy"....but only for a little while.....we all look forward to seeing him again in Heaven...some day. We send our love and prayers to his immediate family (whom we love dearly)....to Aunt Jane, Peggi, George and Jim. Even though we live far away from each other, you are all just a heartbeat away from all of us.....
