Ms. Powe, I was only 11 years old when you entered my life. Your many encouraging words of wisdom has blessed my life in so many ways. You taught us to be strong, educated, intelligent black women and these are the values that I instill in my daughters. I love you Ms. Powe. Now at the age of 34 I look back on how much of yourself you dedicated to so many children, families and communities its amazing. The world would be a better place if there were more of you Ms. Powe. XOXO

Gerri, You were a powerful force in the Charlotte Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. When I transferred my membership from the New Jersey Union County Club to the Charlotte Club in 1995, you welcomed me with open arms serving at the time as the Director of Membership and you put me to work immediately. You earned the nickname "Sarge" for your no nonsense approach to getting things done. I thank God for the opportunity to have known you and the woman of God that you were. You epitomized Christ by being a good and faithful servant to your fellowman. You will be missed here on earth but welcomed into heaven and you have earned your crowns.
