To the family of Dale Robertson,

Our hearts were very saddened to learn of the loss of your loved one. Dale Robertson was a fine actor, and his work made him seem like a family friend. One of our favorite movies is "The Gambler from Natchez," and his wonderful work in movies like "Sitting Bull" and "Golden Girl" as well as his other westerns brought much entertainment to our family. We greatly enjoyed his portrayal of Jim Hardie on the television show "Tales of Wells Fargo" where he brought honesty and good personal values to the screen.

May God bless and comfort you all now with His love and the memories of happy times.

With deepest sympathy,

The Olsen Family

My best to Dale's family. I met Dale through my next door neighbor about 1959. She was a relative of his. He came to dinner at her house in Garden Grove. I met him and talked with him a few times at Los Alamitos Race track. At the time I was keeping a quarter horse there with a friend. He was one really nice down to earth person. We both liked horses. I am sorry he is gone.
June 28, 2013
Dale will be missed but never forgotten. He was an excellent actor, singer, horseman (no one rode a horse better), and a true gentleman who set a fine example for America's youth. I was privileged to meet him twice in the '60's and he was very kind to me. We talked of our mutual love of horses. He remains my all time favorite and I know he is now with Jubilee. My thoughts are with his family.

My Very Best To Mr. Robertson's Family At This Time.
April 03, 2013
As a boy of 12 I walked from Sonora to Columbia California to watch the filming of a Tales of Wells Fargo episode. I will never forget the adrenalin rush as the bank robers exited the bank, rode off on their horses and the bank teller bursting through the doors and yelling, "I've been robbed!" On the then dirt street in Columbia came Dale leaning into the wind on his horse at a full run. He swung into the hitching post and simultainously dismounted. He squared his shoulders and drew both pistols and fired several times from both. My heart was beating rapidly as the film producer shouted "That's a take!" Later that week, Dale entered my dad's barber shop in Sonora for a haircut. My dad's shop was directly across from The Sonora Inn were Dale was staying. As my father was cutting his hair he kept nodding at me with a "come on" kind of body language. Finally I caught on and I offered Mr. Robertson a boot shine. I made pocket change working as a bootblack. With his continous western drawl which he used on and off screen, Mr. Robertson said "Why sure partner." Top and bottom was my reply. "Just the bottom son." I was so honored and could not wait for school the next day for sharing time. The boot shine was 35 cents. He gave me a dollar and said, "Keep the change." He was my childhood HERO!

My Dad was friends with Dale dating back to 50's. I remember him coming to our house in Lansing,MI when he was here to buy semi's for his horse trailers. He stayed at our house for several nights, and I remember what a big deal it was for everyone in Lansing. Also remember visiting him at his ranch "Haymaker Farms" in Oklahoma, and stayed at his house in California with his wife Lou and daughter Rochelle around 1960. Dale was sponsered by Buick Motor Division and my Dad was able to buy some of the specially made cars for him. I remember when we went out to the ranch to visit and my older brother who was into horses, was asked if he would like to go for a ride, I was more of the mechanical type, and when he asked me what I wanted to do I pointed to a big garden tractor and said I wanted to drive that instead of riding a horse. He and my Dad looked at each other and started laughing, but he let me drive it anyway.Remember him as a bigger than life figure. R.I.P.

My condolences to all of Dale's family. I grew up watching his movies. I have always been a great fan of westerns. I was later blessed to own a former race horse which I was told belonged to Mr. Robertson. The horse's name was "Plum Foolish". He was a wonderful horse and oh, did he love to RUN!! I always wanted to contact Mr. Robertson and ask if I could have a picture of "Plum" in the winners circle. Unfortunately, I never did that.
Again, my deepest sympathy to his family.
March 08, 2013
Rest in peace, Sir. Dale endorsed my book POW/MIA; America's Missing Men, and we talked many times on the phone about my Veterans Appreciation Banquet. He was a true and Patriotic All-American...

Mr. Robertson built Insbrook Village condominiums in my home town Ruidoso, N.M. He also had a beautiful home not that over looked the old airport. My sister would come home from school and saddle up and rider her horse up through the open fields up past the airport in the evenings. One evening I saw Mr. Robertson's vehicle coming down the driveway and he was leading my sisters horse by holding the reigns out the window my father and I went out to meet him and I took the reigns and he got out of the rig and my sister was sitting in the back dirty with a bump on her head. She had been bucked off and he had seen it happen went out caught the horse and gathered my sister up and brought em home. He stayed for dinner, for a few years he would come down and saddle up and ride with my sister from time to time, and always eat dinner when they came back. Great man, great voice, great memories. Gods speed Mr. Robertson

Well I do not know how many of you know this but Dale was not just an actor, but also a singer and poet, and if you knew him you knew of his poem a man with a face, the end is something like this.

But maybe someday with fatal powers that be, will shed a bit of grace upon thee, for I will follow him up to his wonderful place, and see once again the man with the face.

I am confident that he is with grandma Vervel seated with the man with the face, saving a place for us all.

Bless you Dale, And peace and prayers to the family Susan, Rebel, Rochelle.

I feel as though I've lost my sole mate of my teenage years. I first saw Dale Robertson in "Fighting Man of the Plains." I was only eight years old at the time, but there was something about him even then. As I got older, I saw him several other movies and noticed him above everyone else. Those blue eyes and jet black hair! Wow! By the time Wells Fargo started, I was old enough to realize that I was in love! Rest in peace, Mr. Robertson, and ride Jubilee as often as you can.

March 02, 2013
Peace and comfort be with Dale's family. We enjoyed meeting Dale at the Roy Rogers-Sons of the Pioneers in Branson in late 90's. My husband was so excited as he has watched many of his tv shows.
March 02, 2013
I was associated with Dale and Haymaker Farm in the late 1970s. We shared many meals at Yukon Mining Company and he would never let me buy. One day I told him I wasn't going unless I could pay. His reply was "When you go with me, Pard, I buy." So I didn't go that day. I later realized how much I missed his company, so I started going again (and he still wouldn't let me buy). If you look up 'honest man' in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Dale. Even though he was a great actor, he was very down to earth. I'm sure I saw all his movies more than once. We all lost a great friend. My condolences to the family. "See you later, Pard."

To the Family,
Condolences, Mr. Robertson will be missed. In the summer of 1965, I called to ask if he would sponsor a trophy for our local Quarter Horse Show. He answered the phone personally and gladly agreed to sponsor the Championship Halter Class.
It was such a thrill to speak with him and have him respond in such a "down home Oklahoma drawl"
May you always ride in green pastures,

With sympathy to the Family. Dale was the big hero in our Boston neighborhood and got bigger. One of his staffers married our neighbor. Chance meeting for them and love followed. We kids awaited Dale to pay a visit, but that never happened. We loved him even if he did not attend the neighborhood reception for the couple. Dale, rest well knowing your work in life was clean and good.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Robertson Family. I met Mr. Robertson in the early 90's on a flight from OKC to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. I was on my way to meet my husband there and attend the annual Auburn Car Show and Mr. Robertson was going to be the Grand Marshall in the parade in Auburn that year. We sat next to each other and visited the entire time, and found that we had friends in common in OKC. We also talked about our mutual love for old cars, his movies and being on Dallas. In the end he kiddingly said "so, do you want my autograph?" and I asked "so, do you want mine?" We autographed each others drink napkins and laughed. He was such a delight and will be missed.
