I'm Captain Mark Dickson and I had the privilege of guiding David on many fishing trips in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. I am deeply saddened to just now find out about his passing. David and I had some great fishing trips together and he will always be remembered for being the creator as what we nicknamed together the "Simpson Slam" which consist of 5 different species of fish. A Inshore Slam consist of 3 fish, Redfish, Trout and Flounder but David caught two other species, Black Drum and Stripe Bass in addition to those three all in one half day trip and the Simpson Slam was created. He caught this Slam on more than one occasion and no one else has done this on my boat, just him. I always enjoyed seeing David and we spent many an afternoon in some saltwater creek just talking about life and sometimes death. Gone but never forgotten.
It has been almost a year, and it still seems like yesterday. Everytime as I drive by 216 McDowell Street,I always think of your husband being there. He was a fine man indeed and with his great expertise, helped out our family out very much. I learned a lot from him on many situations, and even though my age is only 3 years difference I gave him the respect of calling him Mr. Simpson. I hope you and your daughters will always have comfort from the Lord whenever times are difficult. He is in a better place without the suffering that I know for sure he experiened. I will never forget hearing those footsteps of his coming down the stairs into the conference room , talking about golf and fishing before we started business at hand. A professioanl Lawyer for sure.

Linda, my heart goes out to you and your family at this sad time. I hope that the happiness of your memories will soon begin to outweigh the sorrow of your loss. My prayers are with you.
We had the great fortune to work with David at the Clerk's Office. We were always glad to see him come through our doors. We will miss his kindness and wonderful personality. We are so sorry for your loss.
Linda, I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. He was such a wonderful and caring man. He helped me with an injustice that happened to my husband in 1999. He and Mike Lawter are in heaven together now and at peace and both free from cancer. God's love and peace to you and your family today and always.
I was saddened to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am so very sorry to hear of David's death. From looking at the wonderful array of photos posted online, it's apparent that David was a very special man, husband, and father. Thank God for all the wonderful memories you and your daughters have to share and remember together. I am also thankful that his faith was such a big part of David's life, and that his suffering is now ended. Yet, that does little to ease your pain and sadness. My prayer is that the Lord will bring you, Sarah, and Kate peace, that you will feel His presence during this difficult time, and that your hearts will be so filled with love that soon there will be room for nothing else. God bless all of you.
I had the pleasure to work with David many years ago when I was a paralegal in Charlotte, he was a wonderful person, he will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as I lost my brother on the same day 4 years ago. God Bless to you and your family during this difficult time.

I'm so very sorry about David.
Linda, Although I never had the pleasure of meeting David, I felt that I knew him through your stories about your family. My sincerest condolences to you and the girls for the loss of David. You all are in my prayers.
Dear Simpson family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You all were like a second family ever since the Harris Y and I know he will be greatly missed.
Linda, Sarah & Kate, I met your Father/husband a few years ago at the courthouse in Charlotte and we became friends and mutual cancer fighters. Your father/husband talked about your family vacations, how we both traveled to a lot of the same places, his battle with cancer as well as mine. He never swayed away from his faith or his family. He spoke about the upcoming wedding and how he cherished his girl's. Please know that David understood his battle and how it affected those around him. I will greatly miss our conversations and chats. I keep you in my thought's and prayers.
Ms. Simpson and family: Words cannot begin to express what I felt when I heard of David's passing. My condolences to all of you. I know that David is at peace; however, a great void has been left. I worked closely with David and admired his abilities as an attorney. He truly was an inspiration as he touched so many people with his wit and wisdom. I am proud to say that David was my friend. He will be dearly missed. God Bless!
Linda & Sarah & Kate,
Please know that all of us in Meck12 Girl Scout District have you in our thoughts and prayers. David fought a long, courageous battle with cancer. Please know we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Linda, Sarah, Kate,
We are so sad to learn of David's passing in the paper today but knew it was just a matter of time. Craig and I are thankful that we got to see him at Sarah's wedding. I remember him loving Jimmy Kimmel and the Man Show (i think that's what it was called) and how he would always say what a pleasure it was having Katie over because she didn't run crying from the table when he was dishing out good-natured ribbing. Your memories of him are endless and they, along with God's comforting arms will sustain you. I am sorry that we won't be able to be at the visitation tonight or the service tomorrow. If there is anything, at any time we can do for any of you, please don't hesitate to call us. You all, as well as David's parents and sister and family will be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you all! Lisa, Craig, Katie and Kelly Ennis

David T. Simpson, Jr. was an excellent attorney and an even better Christian man. He was so great to work with and he was an example for all of us to follow. I was blessed by knowing him.

I had the pleasure of spending much time with David on business matters but also talking about life in general. David was a Christian first and foremost. He was as fine an example of the Christian in action, and was consistent in his ways. He obviously loved his family. David was a friend, he set an example for us all to follow, and was an outstanding attorney. I will miss him, and my prayers are with the family.
Linda, Sarah, Kate, Mr.and Mrs. Simpson, and Kathy, I am so sorry you have to experience this terrible loss. David's presence was always like a breath of fresh air. When my son was little, he referred to Uncle David as "that guy who talks like Elvis". Tom and I are thankful for the nice chat we had with David at the wedding. Love to all of you. Sincerely, Vicki Chapman Wright (Selinsgrove,PA)
David was one of Union County`s finest young men. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Linda, Sarah and Kate, I met David at Carolina where he had the room next to mine in Winston Dorm his freshman year. He and I, along with my roommate from that year, John, shared an apartment for the next two years. I remember David as a smart and fun guy. We had three great years together at Carolina, two of them in the same apartment. Since I moved to Houston after college, I haven't had much of a chance to stay in touch, which I'm sure was my loss. David was a great guy and I know he will be missed. I lost my own brother to cancer earlier this month, so I have a keen sense of what you must be feeling. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Dear Linda and family,
Dee and are very saddened by David's passing. He and I had some great times together many years ago when we were young lawyers at Gerdes, Mason. He was a good and decent person, and he will be greatly missed. Wishing you all the best at this difficult time. David and Dee Tolbert
Linda, Sarah and Katw,
My heart goes out to you. I will always remember David's sense of humor. He was a true southern gentleman.
Linda, Sarah, and Kate: I was so sorry to read of David's passing. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
David joined our law firm when he graduated from law school. He was an exceptional attorney, but moreover an exceptional family man and Christian. I will miss him deeply.
You will be missed more than you will ever know! You were not only a cousin, but the closest thing to a brother I will ever have. Til' we meet again, I love you.
We were filled with great sorrow upon hearing of David's passing yesterday, but I know we will see him again one day with our Lord. We pray the Lord gives you guidance and brings you peace knowing he is with Him now. May God bless you Linda, Sarah and Kate during this difficult time.
David was greatly loved by many people and he touch so many in return. May the Lord hold you and the girls thru this time of grief. Much love.
Linda, Sarah and Kate,

Joe, Julie, Anna and Sam Hecksher
Linda, Sarah and Kate-- Like David, I memorized the Westminster Shorter Catechism while in college. The first question-- What is the chief end of man? Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I'd say David has done and IS DOING that. His faith continues to be an inspiration to all of us. Our hearts are with you during this really painful time. Melissa and Jim
Dearest Linda, Sarah & Kate,
Our family has kept you and your husband/father in our thoughts and prayers all these years. We remember him now as a brilliant man that kept us in touch with history, a hard working Christian man, and a friend that we were blessed to be with from time to time. Please know that we will continue to pray for your comfort in the days forward and for David's peace with Our Lord in Heaven.
We send our love,
Donna, Jerry, Alex, & Julianna Focht
