What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
I am so sorry to read this news and want his family to know that James will certainly be missed. I will never forget how wonderful it was to be around James when we were growing up. From preaching and playing music together, to picking peppers, to swimming in the creek: nothing but good memories ... He was a true friend and I will always remember his tenacity and enthusiasm about Jesus. I pray that his family finds sweet comfort and hope in our God.

O for a day to walk again slow through a forest deep O for the time to talk again before I go to sleep O for the warmth of summer sun the chill of winters eve and O for the chance to sing my song once more before I go O for the scent of autumn air brisk clean and cold O for the chance to travel where the seas are blue and bold O for the prayer I never prayed O for the kiss I never kissed and O for the chance to sing my song once more while yet I missed cry of bird and wail of wind word unspoken sin un-sinned a night to dance a hill to climb the chance to sing while there is time O for the taste of meat and ale to linger on my tongue O for the sight of hill and dale and faces that are young O for the hand of one I love the time to bloom and grow and O for the chance to sing my song once more before I go.
May the peace of God be with all of you now and forever.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

This is a Message to the family from another Army family. Our daughter knows your family member personally and she is currently serving in Afghanistan and she was with Justice on that day and she posted the following on her facebook tonight. I know it doesn't take away the pain but know that we are all thinking of you.
"this hits to close to the heart.
tomorrow we will honor one of our own. On August 14th we were on dismounted patrol when we recieved contact. a few where injured but justice gave his life. justice was transfered to langstuhl, germany where ...he passed away! Before he passed he was awarded a bronze star and purple heart for his dedication and service to his country! He always kept a smile on everyones face by telling jokes and playing pranks. during patrol he would always make sure that the nervous minds were set to ease. he never failed to let everyone know that this is what he lives for! when duty calls hes there, no second guessing or hesitation! it was his country and his loved ones he would die for! tomorrow we will hold a heroes ceremony in his honor! it will be a hard day for most of us. justice for those of us that had the opportunity to work with you it was an honor. we will never forget the sacrafices you made! Rest in peace my fellow paratrooper, brother in arms, and even more so my brother who protected me on patrol!! ? NEVER FORGOTTEN!! SGT. Kayla Demars 173rd Airborne Bamberg, Germany F.E.T Team"

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms, SPC James A. Justice, U.S. Army. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for James. And to James it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. James you gave the last full measure of devotion for what you believed in and fought for. No greater love and patriotism are shown than when a man lays down his life in service to his country. James, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to James' family and loved ones.
