We're all thinking of all of you this week, dear family.
My dearest condolences go out to the Whitton family. As you face this difficult time may you know God is aware of your suffering.
Words might not heal the pain of losing a loved one. May God's blessings and memories of your loved one give you the comfort, peace and strength you need during these sorrowful times.(Isaiah 61:2)
To the family: Be courageous and strong. When your strength is gone and endurance tested. Do not suffer shock or be terrified for God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9) With deepest sympathy.
To the Witton family I offer my condolences. I would like to offer a verse from John 15:28. I hope that this will bring comfort and hope to the family during difficult time.
With deepest sympathy to the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during this difficult time and may God grant you the comfort to endure.
May the God of all comfort be with the family in their time of healing.
Our condolences to your family for your loss. Death is so difficult, but God promises that Death will be brought to nothing.
Have faith in all that God promises.
Im so sorry to hear of your loss. may you be surrounded by love and may you be comforted by the words at james 4:8 "draw close to God and he will draw close to you"
Please find comfort in the God of all comfort. He knows how you feel and he cares for you. Put faith in him.
Sorry for your loss.
May peace and comfort from our God be with you.
Hold on to memories of special times.
I miss you, cousin...get heaven up to date on Calculus, ok?
Dear Amy and family,
My heart is so sadden to hear of Robert's passing. It's been years since I've seen all of you, I haven't forgotten the closeness of you, Robert and the children. I know your lives will be different without Robert, but so enriched with all the wonderful memories you have to share.
You are in my prayers.
God bless you,
Amy and Katherine, the world is a lesser place because of this tragedy but I know no two better people to fill that void than you both. When I first attended NWSA graduation the valedictorian said, "don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened." Cliche yes, but nonetheless true. I hope your hearts are soon at ease and life brings you everything Dr. Whitton would have wanted for you. Sincerely....
Dear Amy, Allison, Sarah, Katherine, Michael and Amanda,
What a terrible, sad tragedy. I am praying for you. Robert was one of the nicest and most inspiring people I have ever had the privilege to know. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Carol and I were so sorry to hear about Robert when we returned from our trip. Tom always can remember the warm welcome he got when moving to Charlotte. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
My sincerest condolences to the his family and his Davidson family on our terrible loss, especially to his sister Mary. I am so sorry that you have lost such a fine big brother. My prayers and love are with you all at this time. Sincerely,
To you Amy and the other members of the family, we send hope and faith, as our thoughts and prayers have been for Robert and you, during his injury and hospitalization. We are so sorry for the accident that took his life.
Mary: So sorry about Robert. Sounds like he had a great life and loved what he did. We are thankful for that.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have enjoyed reading all of the articles about your husband
We are all so blessed to have known Dr. Whitton. He especially loved sharing his love of opera with Davidson students. Here is a photo from the outing in October.
Dr.Whitton,I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Our fathers were the best of friends, so involved with Boy Scouts, canoe trips, families, and the out-of-doors. I don't remember a time when the Whittons and Smiths were not involved with each other. My love goes out to you!
Deanne Smith (daughter of Walton Smith)
Amy and family - You are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this tough time. Take assurance knowing that he lived a good life and that peace will soon attend your way. It will soon be well with your soul. Lovingly, Denise Addison and family
I went to Myers park High School with Robert and remember him as a warm, friendly, quiet person who always had a smile and a warm greeting for everyone. We are in the planning stages of our 50th reunion and are heart-broken that Robert will not be there to celebrate with us. We will miss him very much! Our prayers are with the family and all of his numerous friends. Truly gifted teachers are born not made and the loss of one is indeed a real tragedy! Laurin Horney Threatt, MPHS Class of 1962.
Life is so short and so fragile. HIS life captured the essence of life, of giving, and of joy. His students were so blessed and his family was so lucky.
I am so very sorry for your loss, and for the loss to the Davidson College family. Blessed be.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Whitton's family and friends.
Amy, and Whitten Family- Please accept my condolences during this horrible time. It is so hard to understand why such awful things can happen to those so innocent. My thoughts and prayers will be with you in the coming weeks. Sincerely,
Dear Whitten-Diamond family,

Dear Whitten family - I am so sorry for your loss. Praying the comfort of the Lord during these next days and weeks, as your family continues to walk through this valley. May there be days of joy in memories, as friends and family share & support each other.

Dear Mrs. Diamond and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. While we did not know Dr. Whitton, it is clear that he was so loved at Davidson. We are thinking of your family every day, and wish you continued grace.
Dr Whitton will be greatly missed! If not for him, I never would have made it through calculus! He was a wonderful professor, and a very kind man.
