With overwhelming odds against you,you figured out how to love your girls and others in ways you never witnessed nor experienced as a child.We grew up in the same environment and shared many of the same personal experiences and struggles.You were always there for me even when you were fighting your own battles. You challenged me to face the deep dark places in my past, to test beliefs, to keep an open mind, and to push on even when I felt I couldn't face any more. You said, "One at a time, one day at a time." You saw the pain in others and gave them all you had. As a physician, you exemplified the Hypocritical oath. You truly were an inspiration to me.
