I think I remember Richard from one of Mark Packer's UNC vs Duke viewing parties at Jocks and Jills a few years ago. No one knew his name was Richard or Alec but that it was the "Git Sum Guy". WFNZ even had a billboard campaign along I-77 for a while with the words "Git Sum! Prayers to your family. RIP and Git Sum!

Like many others in the Charlotte area, I never actually knew you in person but you were like kin folk through the radio airwaves on WFNZ. You will be missed. Thanks for the endless rants. Now from one Tar Heel to another, rest in peace my brotha and GET SOME!!!!

I,like many others, did not know the Alec Nantz that the family knew.I only knew him as the "Get Some Guy" from WFNZ fame. But what I do know if he was dedicated..Dedicated to his 'Heels and #3....In a way that made many people's lives more entertained every day.I will miss his calls to the station, but you will miss his presence.May God bless the family to the fullest extent possible. No one knows how much they are needed and loved until its too late to tell them. Thanks for sharing him with us.

I will miss The Get Some Guy. I do not know why some guy ranting made my drive home better but it did....Get Some!

You made me laugh a million times. RIP and Go Heels.

Thank you GET SOME GUY. I don't know how many times you have brought me, a total stranger, to laughter but it is too many to recall. Your afternoon rants were nice diversions from the problems of the day for hundreds, possibly thousands of people.

This must be quite a trying and sorrowful time for your family. I hope that one day soon they will be able to find comfort in the fact that you were able to bring joy to so many people.

I'm a loyal WFNZ listening, and you will be missed brotha, may you rest in peace

Mrs. Nantz, my sincere condolences to you and Debbie. Alec was a great friend, classmate and the ultimate Carolina fan. He touched countless people as the Get Some Guy on WFNZ. I've never known anyone with a bigger heart! Tar Heel Heaven just got a great one!

You must have been the greatest Tarheel fan ever. May God bless you & your family.
