Jim was a passionate, determined man who fought for his beliefs. For years, he played the role of concerned and watchful citizen, often bombarding the City Council with his ideas and positions. He later served on the City Council and in the State Senate. As a public servant, I locked horns with Jim on a number issues, while admiring his determination and zeal. Never bashful about speaking his mind, Jim left a considerable imprint on local government.

Jim was a very colorful, passionate and interesting man, bubbling with ideas. For many years he played the role of gadfly on the local political scene, poking at and prodding local elected officials, before being elected to the City Council and the State Senate, serving with distinction. Rest in Peace, Jim.

He had an ready smile and a passionate love of life. He fought hard for what mattered and did not apologize for doing the right thing. A man's man. We'll miss him.
