Sadly, I just learned of coach Bob's death. He was my first coach and mentor at Fishburne Military School for the two years he was there. I am blessed to have known him and will always miss him. My heart goes out to his family.

Although it was good talking to you yesterday for the first time in quite awhile, I was deeply saddened to learn from you that Bob had left us. He was one of the finest people I ever had the honor to meet and I always felt you had been so fortunate to have him as your husband. The world has lost a great man.

Dear Margaret,
Don and I are so very sorry to learn about Bob's passing. He was a kind and generous soul and I know you and the girls will miss him greatly. We send our love and prayers and are grateful for the memories.

The national sports community along with the state of South Carolina have lost one of the all time great coaches. The "Godfather" of South Carolina high school Track & Field truly made a difference in the lives of the athletes, parents and coaches he came in contact with. Bob and I met for the first time in 1975 at the National High School Coaches Convention and shared a friendship ever since. We will miss Bob but will cherish the memories forever. Sandy and I send our warmest regards and prayers to the family. Coach, you lived life to the fullest, "From Start to Finish".

Bob was a friend of mine, and I had the greatest respect for him. He coached both of my sons and was tough but always fair. He left many great memories.
