Mr. Louis' name should be written alongside the definition of the words “courageous, “hero,” “bravery,” and “idol” in Webster's dictionary. When we google his name on our computers, these words should be used to describe him, and maybe then our young people will really know the meaning of these words. He indeed stood up for righteousness. He not only stood up in the face of adversity, but he showed up. I can't even imagine how he was feeling, how his family was feeling about him testifying, and how that horrific crime may have played over in his mind every day of his life.

However, I find resolve in the fact that Mr. Louis “LIVED” and went on to a fulfilled life, and what is so very awesome is that Mr. Louis lived to see justice for Emmett Till. God was gracious enough to show him great favor, and I pray that God will continue to bless his wife and family.

My sincerest sympathy is extended to the entire Louis family. “Well done…thou good and faithful servant!” There is a good reward waiting for you.
