Dear Joyce,

I was very saddened to read of Dick's passing. He was greatly admired as an educational collegue and contributed substantially to the success of many dental students and those with whom he worked. I also knew you both as patients and considered it an honor that you entrusted me with your care. Dick was a true gentleman and he will be missed by all who kneew him. My sincere condolences, Joyce, to you and your family. May he rest in peace.

During a department meeting, I commented (to Dick) that under your chairmanship, you always acted with the upmost amount of civility. Dick you are a real gentleman, and one of the most decent human beings that I ever had the pleasure to meet. Ron Haeberle

To Joyce and family,
It was most sad to learn of the loss of Dick, our professional colleague and friend. He is gone all too soon but he made many significant contributions to this world during his life. We shall miss him very much.

To The Family of Captain Hesby,

On behalf of the USS Bennington Association, please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one. Our thoughts & prayers go out to the entire family at this most difficult time. We "thank you" for the Captain's service to God & Country.

"Gone from us physically but as long as his memory remains in just one of us, he'll be remembered always."

In August of this year, in Bennington, Vermont, Captain Hesby shall be remembered. His name shall be read from a list of those who have gone before us to stand, "The Eternal Watch" and the actual Ships Bell will toll in his memory.
