Slamar, Lolita "Dolly" (nee Gaede), age 79, sailed home while in the arms and hearts of loved ones on October 9, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Charles Slamar and beloved wife of the late Jerry Hynek, Dolly was born and raised in Chicago and lived in Cicero for many years. Dolly broke the mold with her spirit, kindness, fairness, humor, and true love of life, family and friends. Precious daughter of the late Evelyn P. Gaede (nee Pint) and Leroy Gaede, and loving and "marvelous" sister of Daisy (Joseph) Scarpaci, Barbara (Thomas) Carr, the late Evelyn "Sissy" Gaede, and the late Sandra Gaede, loving Nana of Kristen, Allison and George, and adored aunt and friend of Linda (Edward) Martin, Claudia (Joseph) Philipps, Cynthia Scarpaci, Mark (Kathy) Scarpaci, and Nina (Paul) Cerpa, dear stepmother of Charles Jr. (Gail), Susan, Richard, and the late Millicent Slamar, loving aunt of great-nieces and nephews, Jeff, Jessie, Mike, Vince, Evie, David, Cassie, Amanda, Nick, Luke, and Anna, and great-great nephew, Joseph, and darling "buddy" of Denna Quillin, she will be sorely missed. Visitation Sunday, October 11, 2:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m., Sourek Manor Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th Street, Cicero, Illinois (708-652-6661). Funeral Monday, October 12, 10:00 a.m. from Sourek Manor Funeral Home, Cicero, Illinois to St. Mary's Cemetery, 91st and Kedzie, Evergreen Park, Illinois. I loved Aunty Dolly very much and prayed for her during her struggle. I know she is in a better place now, but will still miss her and remember the last day we spent together. Thanks for teaching me cards that day!

We’ll all miss Aunty Dolly’s love, laughter, warmth, kindness, generosity, sense of fairness, devotion to family, bossiness, silliness, and much, much more.
For those of us who really knew Dolly, our worlds and family parties will be sadder a lot less colorful without her. At the same time, those of us who were blessed enough to know her have no doubt that heaven just got a lot more fun and way more interesting!
I love you lady!

Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!"
There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,
"Here she comes!"
I love you my sister!

Your families are in our thoughts and prayers as you deal with your loss. Both Dolly and Charlie became the "grandparents" to our four kids after my parents passed with even the Dairy Queen trips whenever they came up north. Your Auntie Dolly was the most gracious, kind and down to earth neighbor and friend I could ever wish for. We loved her.
