As a artist/ author lucius had a powerful impact on how I veiw art.He was a leader at SAIC . A real mover and shaker. He was a brilliant artist that strived for a 'new' way of looking at the world.
On page 47 of my non- fiction book: Being and Homelessness: Notes from an Underground Artist I mention Lucius: " A friend and fellow student at the school, Lucius Armstrong, would say, " John, see that piece of paper on the floor? That's art!"
I will always cherish the friendship I had with Lucius.

My mother (Patricia Kelley), I (Shaneka Sears), and family want to offer our deepest condolences and sympathy to Mary and
the Armstrong family. We regret of being informed of Mr. Armstrong's passing and we ask God to lift the family up in prayer during this time.

Your life MEANT something. Thank you for teaching young men to play chess, for propagating art and literature and for being a true blue friend. HERE WAS A MAN. A MAN OF GOD, HUMILITY and HUMANITY. Bless the Family.
