Shirley, Cathy, Christy, and all, I learned of the sad news of your father's death only today. I was thinking of driving through Chicago in August (2015) and wondered of the Sallases, remembering what fun we had in Colorado in 1970 and Chicago in 1971. My condolences and a prayer for Tony.

Tony was a major influence in my life. As Tony and Shirley were my parent's best life long friends, I came to know Tony when I was only a small child. As I grew into a young man looking for direction and a career, it was Tony who became a mentor to me and led me to an education and career in real estate and development. Tony was a true mentor to me and always made encouraging remarks when he and Shirley visited our home or at thier home over the holidays or before heading out for an evening's entertainment. Tony's bigger than life personality lit up the room and immedietely put everyone at ease and in a good mood. His friendship with my father Dick was something my father treasured throughout his life and my mother adored Tony for his close friendship and frequent evenings outings to Chicago's best eateries and entertainment with Shirley. Tony and Shirley were my mother and father's best freinds and introduced them to each other and they eventually wed. It could be said that I owe my life to Tony and Shirley as do my siblings. Without Tony having been my father's best friend and Tony and Shirley introducing my father and mother to each other, I would not exist in this world. Shirley, Jeff, Cathy, Linda, Christie and Laura, my sympathies for losing Tony, we all miss his warmth, caring and his positive approach to life and those who were fortunate enough to call him husband, father, brother, and friend.

Dear Shirley and Family, Although we are distant cousins and have only recently become better acquainted with Tony and all of you since our family reunion, I feel a true sense of loss and sorrow at his death. Tony was an elegant man with a wonderful sense of humor and so full of life. He seems to have accomplished enough for two lifetimes. I feel enriched having known him. Please accept my condolences; may his memory be eternal. Love, Cleo

Dear Laura and Family, It is very hard to loose someone you love. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. I look at those paintings your mom did for me and now I'll think of your dad also. Fondly, Pat McShane
