I worked with Chuck at the Illinois Federation of Teachers in the early 1980s. He was a unique character with a great sense of humor and commitment to the labor movement. God bless.

Dear Barbra Blake & Melissa: We were saddened to hear of Chucks passing. I have known Chuck most of my life. I (we) always enjoyed the times we spent together. There are no words that can express the sadness of this loss. Please accept our condolences. With love: Jill & Jay Robinson

Such an amazing ma who will be missed forever. My husband always spoke fondly of his uncle Chuck and was very proud of everything that he achieved. This was a great asset to the unions, and to humanity.

To the Burdeen Family:
I first met Chuck in the early 90's, when he arrived here from Chicago. He quickly re-organized the DCSAA into the great Union it is today. As a principal, there were many challenges and he personally assisted me with several difficult situations. For that I am deeply in debt to this 'Leader of Leaders'. My sincerest condolences go out to the Burdeen family. Miami-Dade County has lost a strong force for fairness and equality. Thank you for all you have done for administrators and for me, personally. I am in debt to you. You will be missed.
