My prayers are with the Schillinger family. I know that Dr. Schillinger was such an outstanding husband and father, and admired in his field. One of his greatest gifts to us was the gift of his daughter, my friend Ann. Ann is the embodiment of kindness, intelligence, courage and self-sacrificing love. She reflects back to all the goodness that her father showed her. May Dr. Schillinger rest in peace.

I had the dual pleasure of being in Dr Schillinger's class while at DePaul and for counting his son Jerry as a long time friend. As a professor, he was brilliant. As a dean and administrator, he was an outstanding leader. And as a father, I know that he was a true role model. His family should know that Dean Schillinger made an indelible impression on my life and the lives of many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Dean Schillinger was truly a great teacher and a genuinely kind soul. I still remember how he often would look over the top of his glasses as he spoke to you to offer sage advice and counsel. He always will live on through those of us who were blessed to have had him as both a teacher and a friend.

I'm so sorry for your loss Betty Jo. Your father was a beautiful soul, a wonderful & kind man & a loving husband to your mom. He adored & cherished each of you- bragging about you all in every breath he took. I stopped at your folks house on one of my walks not long ago. He welcomed me with open arms, lots of giggles and silly stories after all those years. He will be missed. Prayers going up as you mourn your loss and cherish your memories. Lots of love to you and your family. You have a new guardian angel. One of the best!
