Tug, a witty gentleman who loved his family. His demeanor was brightest when he spoke of the accomplishments of his children and was delighted by their excellent choices of spouses. He was blissfully giddy when he spoke of his granddaughters. Tug especially delighted in reminiscing about happy times with his children and early life with D. His heart was with them always although he was not. He cherished his friends, Lawrenceville, and UNC-Chapel Hill. Well-read and engaged in life, he was a brilliant conversationalist who enjoyed listening and sharing ideas and information. He was a compassionate and understanding friend who took time to listen to the trials, tribulations, and high points of others lives. I will forever cherish and appreciate his friendship. Jane Hight McMurry, Wilmington, NC
