He was a 1950 graduate of Penn State University and a member of the SAE fraternity and remained a Penn State football fan throughout his life. Shortly after graduating from Penn State, George began his career as a salesman with Honeywell. He spent his entire career with Honeywell retiring as a Vice President in 1986. George married Katie in 1955 and began raising their family moving from Wayne to Birmingham, Michigan to Edina, Minnesota finally settling in Arlington Heights.
