I met Eric when he was working for a federal appellate judge in South Bend, Indiana. Eric and I became friends there, and our friendship continued after I left the area. What a classy guy! His academic and professional achievements were so impressive. He was also remarkably friendly and thoroughly unpretentious. A true gentleman, and a man of principle and conviction. Like others, I greatly admired Eric's courage and resolve in the final years of his life. My sympathies to Linda and the children and to Eric's parents and siblings.

So very sorry to hear of your loss, and at such a young age. Death was never a part of God's intended purpose for mankind. If obedient could have lived in paradise indefinitely (Genesis 2:16, 17).
Jesus assured us of a wonderful future in His kingdom (Matthew 6:9). I hope these thoughts bring you all some comfort.

It is with sadness with which we write this, but with gladness of knowing him, his courage, his story, and his ever present hope of his future. He made a difference and leaves behind a legacy that will long be remembered.

Eric became a good friend to me and my family during my brothers bout with gastric cancer. He was willing to reach out despite his own battles. He was always willing to listen after my brother passed away. My hope is that these two great men will be able to connect in eternity. All of our love and prayers to the Grush family.
