I knew Noel in High School ... smart, funny, curious, popular, optimistic ... he stood out. I only now heard of his death. I am very sorry. Your dad was special, even at 15.

Noel...you are a smart, gentle, hapy soul and the other side got better with you going there. Take care, friend, we'll talk later, in another language.

Jay is everything a family man can be. They were in Tokyo then and his Mother was visiting when my Mother who was his Aunt became ill. His Mother was frantically trying to get a booking for her awards ticket to get to Manila but could not get one. Jay intervened and simply offered to get her Mother a ticket so she could fly right away to visit her ailing sister. I have never seen him in years but those words of kindness, concern and generosity touched my heart. He left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. He is probably in a better place but his absence would surely be felt and in our hearts he will forever remain.

Goodbye cousin #5.

He was without vice. Without waste. He loved his family deeply. He was devoted, disciplined, passionate and introspective. In him I found a role model as well as a shared and cherished bond. And if anyone deserved to live a long rewarding life, it was Jay. He did his family, his parents and the Mirasol name proud.
