I knew your son from boot camp I remember like it was yesterday him telling me that he wanted to be a pilot and he was joining the infantry then recon to learn all the skills he needed if he ever was shot down, I remember thinking to myself this kid has such an amazing plan. He was an excellent person I know it was 20 yrs ago but I remember it like it was yesterday and I realize it was 4 yrs since he passed but I wanted to share that storey because I was so impressed by your son and honored to know even if it was only for a short time in Boot Camp. I am so sorry for your loss I will keep you in my prayers.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Gifford Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Jonathan W. Gifford US Marine Gunnery Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family
