Sandra, I am so sorry to heard about the death of Joe. Please accept my sympathy. I remember our eight grade year at St. Simon the Apostle as a fun year with a bunch of nice kids. Bob remembers your visit to our home when the husbands had a little too much to drink or at least Bob did. May God bless you and your children at this difficult time. Jackie (Gorka) Maida

I had the privilege of working with Joe on the Supreme Court for the past 11 years and for part of that time on the Bench and Bar Section Council of the ISBA. Joe was a gentle man, a consummate professional and a joy to work and be with. I echo the words of others: He will be missed. Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier

I was saddened to learn of Joe's passing. He was a good man. He was VERY proud of his children and loved his grandchildren deeply. We had many wonderful conversations about his family while working together at the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. I was there to greet him on his very first day of employment. My sympathies to the entire Tybor family. He will be missed. Robin Karpinski

I offer my sincere condolences. Joe was quite a gentleman and very thoughtful to all I saw him interacting with. I had the pleasure to serve with him on the Bench Bar Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association but met him much earlier in 1984 when he worked for the Chicago Tribune. He was very kind to me and secured the Tribune endorsement for me when I ran for Circuit Court Judge in Cook County. I have always treasured his friendship and quiet helpfulness never seeking to be the center of things but helping in the background where it meant the most.
Best wishes,
Michael Jordan

To the Tybor family:
As former editor of the Illinois State Bar News and associate publisher of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, I was privileged to know Joe Tybor as a fellow journalist, a fine lawyer and an effective spokesman for the Illinois Supreme Court. He was honest and true to the ethical codes of all three.
He will be missed by many.

Heartfelt sympathy to the Tybor family, with warm wishes for grace and peace to prevail. Joe and I were colleagues at the Trib during the 1980s, and he was a treasured friend when I covered the religion beat and especially when I covered our beloved White Sox.

Cousin Joe was a great storyteller. I loved to listen to his tales and how he weaved it with the right amount of detail so you could envision what he was describing-you felt you were "right there" as it was happening. He was a great debater-arguing for his cause with such vim and vigor. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
