Dear Sonny and Toby….Lou was a dear friend of so many years….We shared our formative years together…prowling the halls of Mt Sinai Hospital….learning from each other …he the budding internist, and me the neophyte surgeon…I shall always remember Lou…he not only was a practicing physician ,but also a man of literature and music….AND a darned good bridge player…We spent many an evening with others ,enjoying the games and the companionship…How I longed to have just one more game with him….BUT…that was not tone….so goodbye dear friend…perhaps we will have more games together later on…..Frank Friedman

Lou was part of my parents' extended family of friends from their early married years onward, a tall & dignified presence throughout my own life, the doctor who gave my brother hayfever shots and aided my grandmother when she got shingles at a gallery event, the "rabbi" who turned our chaotic Seders into spiritual occasions, the sharp intellect who didn't succumb to popular viewpoints, the patient who was blessed by a daughter and wife who took care of him till the end. Toby & Sunnie, deepest condolences and love from all of us -- Susie, Jim, Ellie, Julia & Josh.
