Marcella Ann Fischer, 67, residing in Granger, passed away at 11:05 am Monday, July 25, 2016 in Elkhart Hospice House. She was born September 8, 1948 in Willimantic, CT to the late Walter A. and Phyllis E. (Mileski) Brodack. Marcella was a graduate of Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT, class of 1966. She then graduated from Trinity College in Burlington, VT in 1970, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She worked as a cosmetic chemist for 40+ years. Her career included jobs with CT Aerosoles, Inc., Chesebrough-Ponds, Helene Curtis, Alberto Culver, and Delta Labs, Inc., from which she retired as Director of R&D. Marcella also owned her own consulting business, Pamar Labs, Inc. Marcella lived in Illinois for 28 years until moving to the South Bend area in 2012 to care for her mother full time. While in Illinois, she was very involved in the Brookside Property Homeowner's Association for 15 years, where she served as President and Director. She also served as President of the Streamwood Citizens Police Alumni Academy for three years. Surviving Marcella are her daughter, Stephanie Johnson of Niles, MI; son-in-law, Robert Johnson of Niles, MI; sister, Barbara (James) Bohnsack of Miami, FL; brother, Matthew (Jodie) Brodack of Anderson, SC; and nieces, Jennifer, Karen and Amy (Dustin Carnish) Bohnsack and Heidi, Brooke and Melissa Brodack. She was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Brodack in 1995; her father, Walter Brodack in 2009; and her mother, Phyllis Brodack in 2014. Mass of Christian Burial for Marcella will be celebrated at 11:30 am Friday, July 29, 2016 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend as well as one hour prior to Mass on Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Online condolences may be left for Marcella's family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
