You've touched our soul and entered our heart
We needed a catalyst and you played the part
The twinkle in your eyes was bright
And when you were there everything was right
Now the field is an emptier place knowing no more we'll see your face although you're gone you 're still alive and always will be within those who survive.
We'll never say good bye to Phil
He's in the daily line up still;
He walks to the plate within every batter he plays the field, position doesn't matter
He's left an impression so deep and true that he 's been engrained in me and you
And when our time on earth is done we'll join up with Phil and have more fun
Heaven must be a better place with Phil occupying a special space no good byes we 'll see you again
Rest in peace our wonderful friend

It is with Great sadness that I write these words about our friend and teammate "Phil" Burnstein'! I met him years ago playing softball in Pompano Beach, FL in the South Florida Senior Softball League run by George Deeb. Phil for his stature played like a 7 foot giant at times and at his age. He was never one to quit and never backed down to an argument even when the guy coming at him was a foot and a half taller than him. We had many laughs together and I personally will miss him as I know you his family will also. Rest in Peace friend till we meet again playing softball together... Orlando Peña

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Phil, your lost and sadness is our lost and sadness. Phil was a great competitor & good friend on and off the field. He was special and will be missed. I can hear him saying “come on you cockaroach, is that all you got” and then he would burst out laughing. No one had a better laugh than Phil. Rest in peace my friend.

My sincere condolence to the Burnstein Family. Losing a loved one is a difficult time for everyone who knew Phil. I vacation in Florida every March and look forward to playing pickup softball at Pompano Beach and seeing the "guys" every year. Phil Burnstein was one of those guys. I played with him and against him and you could see that he loved the game, his teammates and all the joking around. I will miss Phil next March but I know that if there's truly a field of dreams, Phil Burnstein will be there signing up to play. Rest in peace my friend.

My name is jerry peters, I'm from Milwaukee & played ball with Phil in pompano beach. You could always hear Phil no matter what diamond he was on. I say that with affection. Phil was a great competitor and a great friend. The world was a better place with people like Phil. Without elaborating. HE WILL BE MISSED

Dear Jackie and members of Phil's family
Please accept my condolences for your tragic loss of husband, father, grandpa and friend
Phil and me drove together to play softball at Pompano on Monday and Friday. We talked about family, friends, finance, politics and his Love of the Game. His wisdom on all the topics we touched upon was appreciated by me and all who had the privilege of being with him.
He will be missed by all
