Dear Bob Cusack family: Bob and his brother had offices at 11 S. LaSalle St. next to our law offices...I first met Bob 8n 1949 when I was a law clerk for Steve Jurco. Cusack & Cusack were in the same building for many years...I was licensed in 1950...when Bob took the bench I appeared before h;im both in Divorce nad Probate Courts. I wathce Bob conduct his court..espeicially in Probat (Room 1801) When youn inexperience lawyers appeared before Bob and did not know what they were doing Bob would telll the young person what to do and how to do ..and instead of tossing the young person out he would tell them to go back to their office...make the corrections and bring the paper work back and he would sign it. When there were disputes he would take the litigants into his office and work ourf a settlement...he always called all the lawyers by their first name..I was "John" and my opponent was "Hank" He was a patient and good judge...he know the law. He was the lawyer for JIm Dooley. Dooley was the premier personal injury lawyer at that time Dooley ran as a rump candidate for Supreme Court and won. Dooley was in a bitter divovrce and Bob steered Jim Dooley out of his problems. When there was a contested matter before Judge Cusack he would tell opposing counsel lthat he officed next door to me...usually opposing counsel would say that the law was so favorable to his cause that he did not care that I had officed next to Bob many years.Bob and his brother represented the telephone co employees....female operators etc...would come to his office and he had a steady clientele. Bob had a very distingished career and he will be missed by his family and friends...My condolences to the Cusack family

Dear Cusack Family,

Judge Cusack was a great Judge. I was before him many times in Probate Court. He was always professional and courteous. He lived a good life.

I was a neighbor of Judge Cusack for a number of years. For part of that time we were in the same apartment tier. Mail carriers sometimes mixed up our mail, and the first time I rang his bell to give him the misdelivered mail the Judge suggested that I just leave the mail at his door if it happened again. That worked out well; I could hop off the elevator at his floor, drop the mail at his door, and get back to the elevator before it had left the floor.

I might see him in the garage, on the street, or in the laundry room, and he always had a smile on his face and enough time for a pleasant conversation.

My condolences to the friend who shared some years of his life with him, and to all his family. May he rest in peace.

Dear Cusack Family,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. I met the Judge when I was a young police officer and he was officiating in Br. 27 at 11th & State. He was a wonderful man and graciously agreed to officiate at my marriage in 1983. He was a fair and honorable jurist and a just a great man. My deepest condolences to your family.
