Scott A. Kibort, long time resident of Glendale Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 22 at Lexington Healthcare Center of Bloomingdale with his wife Patty(nee Willis) at his side. Loving, devoted, proud father of Candi(Reggie) Klaas, and Sean and Frankie Hunnicutt; cherished grandfather of Blaze, Isabella, Zane, and Kirsten; treasured son of Stephen and Gloria(nee Guttenberger) Kibort; younger brother of Gwendolyn(Wendi) Houswerth; uncle of Steve and Sean Houswerth; long time friend of Ross Kondrath, John Ray, Frank Houswerth, John Schuster, and many more. Scott served six years in the United States Marine Corps, First Battalion, Platoon 1006. He trained as a tank turret mechanic during his service and worked as a print press mechanic in the private sector for over 20 years. A passionate aficionado of politics, he served two years as District 3 Trustee for the Village of Glendale Heights and ran multiple campaigns for several others as well as himself from 1991 to 2007. Scott also served as Vice Chairman for the Glendale Heights Economic Development Commission and as a Republican Committeeman. Scott had a powerful work ethic and passionate drive which helped him achieve many goals. Scott's family would like to thank Arden Courts of Geneva, Batavia Rehabilitation Center, and Lexington Healthcare of Bloomingdale for their compassionate care. Visitation Sunday July 27 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd.(1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.), Roselle. Funeral Monday 9:45am to St. Matthew Church Glendale Heights Mass 10:30am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. I went to grammar school and high school with Scott. Graduated in 1978. So we were the same age. I remember him. Sounds like he has a loving family and a full life. Just wanted to say I'm sorry.
