Wanda Girard, 94, of Peachtree City, GA, passed away on July 16, 2014, at home under the care of hospice. She was the wife of the late Sam J. Girard, Sr. for 51 years until his death in 1992. She managed several retail businesses throughout her working career until her retirement. She was beloved by friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews, and everyone that knew her. All her life she exemplified the qualities of the woman described in Proverbs 31 who trusted in God and cared for and provided well for her home and family. Health concerns and a desire to be near her son's family brought her to Peachtree City, GA, in 1997.Loving mother of Sam (Holly) Girard, Jr., of Lancaster, PA, and Jerry (Kathy) Girard of Peachtree City, GA; devoted grandmother of Nikki (fiancé, Ben Sherrill) Girard of Atlanta, GA, Steven Girard of Leavenworth, WA, Paul Girard of Peachtree City, GA, Caryn (Michael) Spangler of Villanova, PA, Ingrid (Marcus) Byler of Hilton Head, SC; treasured great-grandmother of Ben Girard, Nicole (Daniel) Jones, Kirsten Girard, Emma, Bethany, Gillian, and Maribel Spangler; and great-great grandmother of Emily Jones. Dear sister of Carl W. Gibes of Enterprise, AL, and Lillian Pollina of Naples, FL. Cherished daughter of the late Walter and Zophia Gibes.
