First time I saw Dave was at the Klein Memorial in Bridgeport, CT in the late 50's. Seen Dave at Cape Cod, On the Green in New Haven, CT (free concert) in Westport, CT twice. The first time with Stan Getz & Paul Desmond. Stan & Paul played All the Things You Are. It blew me away and the second time with his sons. The last time I saw Dave was at Tanglewood Jazz Festival. Our seats were on the stage. He was just wonderful and so exciting to watch. I had a friend at work many years ago and she lived next door to Dave. I wanted her to invite me over when Dave was practicing so maybe I could hear him from an open window. That never happened, but I would imagine it. God Bless you and your family. Take Five is a masterpiece.

Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, and Quincy Jones are the reasons I came to love jazz. I was very fortunate to see the ultra talented Mr. Brubeck and his sons perform here in Houston in the late seventies at Jones Hall. There wasn't a full house that night, but it was better that way, as I knew the people who attended were his loyal fans. I felt like the DB Quartet was playing just for me, and I will never forget how wonderful and memorable that concert was. Dave Brubeck's music brought much joy to my life, and the lives of many others.

God bless him.

The sound! I love it still. I am sorry for your loss. Please know that longevity is a blessing from God. (Genesis 15:15) . . .:" you will be buried at a good old age." May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
