R.I.P., "Mr.C" you are loved and will be remembered by all of your students, I am sure, as the one teacher that pushed us so earnestly, but lovingly, to be the best we could be, both in music and in life. I will always remember your sweet and genuine smile as you led us in song. There was so much pride in that smile, and that gave song to our hearts knowing we had made you proud. I am eternally greatful to both you and Betty for allowing me to spend a bit of time with you in your last days, recalling the memories of concerts and lessons learned from you. The fun memories live on of all the hours upon hours we all put into those concerts: building props, rotating stages, sewing costumes, learning dance steps and harmonies ~ all to fulfill yet another vision from your incredible creativity. I am just simply sad knowing you have left us, but rejoice in the delight that you are now well and whole once again. I look forward to singing in your Heavenly choir, Mr.C., save a chair in the Alto section, please. I love you, and miss you already. Ella Eagar

I first met Mr. C in the 50s when my brothers were in the high school band. Later he was my music teacher in 7th grade and throughout high school. I never forgot him and what he taught me. I still remember a phrase that he would say from time to time when some one, even the whole band was messing up, "Wake up and die right". Mr. C, you were an inspiration and a fantastic teacher.

Bettie and Family, Don was a person no one could forget. He touched so many of us with his music and encouragement to our lives. I know you will miss him forever. I am glad his suffering is over but I still wish you had more years together. Love all of you and again I'm sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.I loved being in the sextette in 1965 and 1966.
