Dear Wurlitzers,

Howard's friendship deepened my appreciation of nature, poetry, adventure and good food. Although I now live in SoCal, I visited his Pine Creek home whenever I was in Chico, and was always greatly refreshed by his presence. I phoned on his birthday and we enjoyed a lively conversation just weeks before his death. He made a huge contribution to my life, as I know he did to yours.

Blessings to each of you in this season of loss.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the Wurlitzer family on the loss of this beloved man. Howard came into my life while I was completing a Master's degree in Biological Sciences at Chico State. His love of all things science inspired me then and now. I will always remember our great science debates and discussions about my research, and our mutual love for our canine companions. Rest in peace dear friend, it was an honor to know you.

The Wurlitzer property contained the Wurlitzer archeological site excavated and inventoried by students at Chico State. The site was dated at about 4000 years old. If you go to Chico State, you can find the MA dissertation in the library with a lot of details about the property/site. My condolences...
