EDWARD PAUL REGAN Edward Paul Regan, 83, of Chico passed away on February 11, 2014. His family was by his side. Ed was born on November 18, 1930 In Fitchburg, MA He was the son of the late Andrew and Marjorie (Babcock) Regan. He was the youngest of a family of ten children. Ed graduated from Fitchburg High School In 1948 and continued on to Fitchburg State for his Bachelor's Degree. He received his Master's Degree from Fairfield University in Connecticut. Following his service in the US Army as a special agent for the CIC, he worked as a civilian advisor for education for the U.S. Army Security Agency. He began his career In education in Connecticut and then, In Massachusetts and California. He retired from the field of education In 1980 and went to work for a defense contractor as a logistic manager. He retired in 1988. Ed enjoyed fishing, playing pool, playing poker, crossword puzzles and stained glass projects. His beautiful work Is enjoyed by his family and friends. His passion was working with the Elks Lodge on Americanism programs and he spearheaded the Chico City of Flags Committee. He was Involved with many local groups to make that happen and he was never more proud and happy than the days the "flags flew all over Chico". He was grateful to, and proud of the Elks for their generous sponsorship of all things patriotic. His sense of patriotism was strong. As a little boy he saw his four older brothers go off to war. He was dedicated to helping veterans and had great respect for our Military. Over the years, Ed enjoyed the love and company of many "four legged friends". He loved them dearly and they returned that love unconditionally. Ed was a proud member of the BPOE#423 and the VFW. He was a member of Our Divine Savior Church of Chico, Ca. and was a man of deep faith. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marie (Del Duca) Regan and his step-daughter Judith (Jeff) Jones, grandchil-dren Austin and Amanda Jones of Chico, Sons Paui(Trudy) Regan of Illinois, Tlmothy(Dlane) Regan and daughter, Lauren (Roger) Lepine of Massachusetts, He Is survived by twelve grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Edward Regan, Jr., a daughter, Ellen Garcia, stepdaughters Andrea and Audrey Del Duca and all nine of his siblings. A Memorial Service will be held at the Elks Lodge, 1705 Manzanita Drive, Chico, on Satur-day, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Butte Humane Society.
