Yesterday, I went into The Bookstore and synchronistically was bequeathed your copy of the I Ching. I went into the store early in the morning to find there were no available copies. Something told me to come back later in the day. Later in the afternoon, I asked Josh if he happened to receive a copy. Lo and behold, the I Ching had arrived inside a box full of books. Josh retrieved it from the top as if it were awaiting my arrival. You had bought it in 1967, initialed in the back of the book. Our fellow friend Bob was there as I made the purchase. We were awestruck by the coincidence. He had been speaking very well of you. I appreciate the gift Sanford! Though I never knew you, I always have.

Sanford was the most loyal and admirable of friends. In knowledge, skills, generosity, and devotion to his own, he is the harbinger of a future age of humanity.

Rose, I'm so sorry about the loss of your husband, Sanford. I had the privilege of delivering your mail everyday for 4 years. During that time it was always such a joy to talk with you and Sanford. You both were very inspiring to me. It was great to witness the love you shared. I love the book of poetry that Sanford wrote and gave me a copy of. May your sweet memories comfort you. Much Love, Margaret (your letter carrier from 2000-2004).
