Deepest sympathies to the Family of Ski. We always enjoyed his company at Mojave Airport and Plane Crazy Saturday. He liked to visit with Wen Painter, a buddy from NASA. We presented Ski with a plaque at the 75th anniversary of Mojave Airport in 2010 to commemorate his service at MCAS Mojave during World War II.

Dear Family,

I join in your sorrow at Ski's passing. He gave a lot to the United States of America in his military and NASA Career. I knew Ski for many years at Dryden. Ski was a clever, self-motivated and hard-driving man. In the early days of the Center, we needed his can-do attitude and his willingness and ability to do the things that were needed when there was no book of instructions. He and John McTigue were brilliant in developing the overland route from Plant 42 to NASA. Dryden has benefitted greatly from his hands-on work over many years. He didn't do these things for recognition and self...he did them for duty and honor.

I salute Ski for his selfless work for NASA and the Nation.

May God grant his family strength at this time, and assure you of His mercy and presence.

To the Markey family. During this difficult time family, friends and even strangers want to express how much they care for your family by a note or a warm hug. Proverbs I7:17 says "A true companion is loving all the time, and is a brother that is born for when there is distress."
