I join in your sorrow at Ski's passing. He gave a lot to the United States of America in his military and NASA Career. I knew Ski for many years at Dryden. Ski was a clever, self-motivated and hard-driving man. In the early days of the Center, we needed his can-do attitude and his willingness and ability to do the things that were needed when there was no book of instructions. He and John McTigue were brilliant in developing the overland route from Plant 42 to NASA. Dryden has benefitted greatly from his hands-on work over many years. He didn't do these things for recognition and self...he did them for duty and honor.
I salute Ski for his selfless work for NASA and the Nation.
May God grant his family strength at this time, and assure you of His mercy and presence.
Director, NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Ret.
