JAMES CEDRIC TOLLETT James Cedric Tollett, 71 passed away April 7, 2014 in Chico, CA. Jim was a resident of Orland, CA for 34 yrs. He was born Dec. 12, 1942 in Portales, NM to James and Barbara Drake Tollett. He was an U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Cal State L.A. and was a Police Officer for the Santa Monica Police Dept. until retiring. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Alcoholics Anonymous. He had a thirst for knowledge and loved to read and watch documentaries. Jim enjoyed the outdoor activities, hiking, fishing, target practicing and playing his harmonica around a campfire. He loved telling funny stories, tinkering with his American made treasures, spending time in the garden with family and friends especially his beloved Phyllis and dog Tippy Tinny Tamerlane Tabasco Tollett and many cats. You probably seen him around town wearing his cowboy hat and boots. He is survived by his beloved Phyllis Stilwell, Mother, Barbara D. Tollett of Olton, TX,; Children, Michelle Tollett of Aliso Viejo, CA and Jonathan Tollett of Woodland, CA.; first wife Myrna Tollett of Woodland, CA.; Sister, Bobbye Tollett Dennis of Olton, TX and Brother, Art Tollett of Fritch, TX and best friends Robert Frease and Bonnie Cripeser of Orland and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, CA. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment Oddfellows Cemetery, Orland, CA. Donations can be made to Alcohol Anonymous.
